Last week, Tara made home-made dark chocolate, salted caramels. It was without-a-doubt the most awesome thing to come out of our kitchen ever. She made the caramel from scratch. It was perfect. It had a nice burned-sugar flavor, almost similar to a toffee. It had great texture and consistency. She rolled out a large pad, cut them into squares, and hand-dipped them into some high quality dark chocolate. Then she sprinkled some pink and black sea salt on the top. If you've have salted caramels before you'll know.. If you haven't, try it! The salt brings out the flavors in the caramel. It's brilliant.
So she made two huge platters last week. We ate them most of them, gave some to my folks, and some to friends. And the best part of all this is-- she made another huge batch this morning. Awesome.
